Obituary for Malcolm Kirk Pollock

Malcolm Kirk Pollock, 83, of rural Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2002, at the Colonial Manor in Anita.The son of Clifton Richard and Lillian Areesa (Kirk) Pollock, Malcolm was born February 11, 1918 at home in Franklin Township of Cass County where he grew up and graduated from Wiota High School in 1935. He was united in marriage to Marvel Euken on February 27, 1944 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church south of Wiota. Following marriage, they lived in rural Anita and have lived and continued to farm at their rural Atlantic address since 1957. Malcolm was a member of the Wiota United Methodist Church, Methodist Men and Farm Bureau, in which he was past president of the board. He was also on the Cass Mutual Insurance Board and the Wiota Cemetery Board.Surviving are his wife, Marvel Pollock ,of rural Atlantic; two daughters, Donna Copeland and her husband, Danny, of Rockford, Illinois and Janet Uthoff and her husband, Vance, of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren, Amy Cosler and her husband, Jim, of Glenview, Illinois, Jenny Goddard and her husband, Andrew, of San Diego, California, Sarah Copeland of New York City, New York, Tim Copeland of Rockford, Illinois, Alan, Heather and Eric Utoff, all of Austin, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Katherine "Kate&" Ann Cosler and Benjamin "Ben&" Goddard; one sister, Margret Norman, of Harlan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Mary Jo Pollock.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Malcolm will be held on Friday, January 25, 2002, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic at 1:30 PM with Rev. Annette K. Ruhs Kruse of the Anita - Wiota United Methodist Churches officiating. Interment will be in the Wiota Cemetery southwest of Wiota.
