Obituary for Ursula M. Peron

URSULA PERONUrsula Peron, 83, passed away on Thursday morning, March 27, 2008, at her home in rural Wiota, Iowa.Ursula Maude Jones was born the daughter of Cloyd Sidney and Ruth Adelia (Ball) Jones in Atlantic, Iowa on August 19, 1924. She attended school in Atlantic where she graduated with the Atlantic High School Class of 1942. She attended college in Asbury, Kentucky and Iowa State University.Ursula was married to Max Elan Peron on April 29, 1945 in Atlantic, Iowa. The couple moved to the Anita/Wiota area where they farmed while raising a family of four. She was a member of the Anita United Methodist Church.Ursula was a blessing as cook for the Shamrock Café at the junction of nterstate 80 and Highway 71. She loved to read and to watch basketball on television, which she was enjoying with her daughters, Ruth and Renee, on the evening before she gently passed away. Her daughter, Sheryl, relates that her mother"s team won the Celtic and Suns game that night which will remain a fond memory for the family. They will remember their mother for all of her warm, sweet and loving ways. Typical of her, she taught all of her children and their friends how to drive and was ever thoughtful of others. Her brother, Sid, said of Ursula"s passing, "It is best. Where she is, people are happy.&"Surviving are her children, Ruth Suplee of Wiota, Iowa, Sheryl McMullen and her husband, Thomas of Irwin, Iowa, Elan Peron and his wife, Sandy of Cumberland, Iowa and Renee Stolberg and husband, John of Bolingbrook, Illinois; two grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; her brother, Sidney Jones and wife, Virginia of Wisconsin; and niece, Kevin and her friend, Renee of California.She was preceded in death by her husband, Max ; her parents; and an infant sister, Marie.Funeral InformationA graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery in Lewis, Iowa at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 29.
