Esther Pelzer

Esther Mae Pelzer. 97. of Omaha, Nebraska and formerly of Marne, Iowa, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2001, at the Skyline Assisted Living facility in Omaha.The daughter of Daniel Jospeh and Susan Murrey Foley, Esther was born September 10, 1914 in Wiota, Iowa. She grew up in Wiota and Atlantic and graduated from the Atlantic High School in 1932. Her marriage to Charles E. Pelzer took place in 1939 in Carroll, Iowa. They were married for forty years and lived in Marne.Surviving are four daughters, Mary Ann Simmons of Eliot, Maine, Susan Robson of Webster, New Hampshire, Carol Valente and husband Ray of Sanbornton, New Hampshire and Pat El Tuhami and husband Hashim of Omaha, Nebraska; one son William Pelzer and wife Linda of Bettendorf, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Sarah and Nadia El Tuhami, Chris Simmons and Samantha Rainbow, Kristi Robson and Jeff Robson, Kendall Pelzer, Paul Pelzer and Laura Wooldridge; one great-grandson Jack Motto; a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles E. Pelzer; one granddaughter Sara Elaine Pelzer; three brothers, Clyde, Wendall and a brother in infancy; one sister Hazel Fuller.Funeral InformationServices for Esther will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2001, at 1:00 PM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Pastor Karen Blake of the Marne United Methodist Church officiating. The committal will be held in the Brighton Township Cemetery northeast of Marne, Iowa.
