Obituary for Eloise Pellett

Eloise Pellett, 85, of Atlantic, passed away early Thursday morning, January 24, 2002, at the Heritage House where she was a resident.The daughter of Lawrence D. and Adah (Blair) Varley, Eloise was born October 8, 1916 in rural Shenandoah where she grew up and graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1934. She attended William Jewell College in Missouri where she played basketball. She taught rural school in Page County. Eloise was united in marriage to Vallie A. Pellett on August 6, 1939. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic and active in Mary Circle.Surviving are two sons, Jim Pellett and wife Nancy and Bill Pellett and wife Leanne, all of Atlantic and one daughter Patricia Pellett Gillis and Tandy Gillis of Laguna Niguel, CA; nine grandchildren, Brad Pellett and wife Kristy of Atlantic, Marci Loder and husband Andrew of Minneapolis, MN, Beth Pellett of Alexandria, VA, Mike Pellett and his fiancée Stacy Fort of Geneseo, IL, Brett Pellett and wife Lindsey of Atlantic, Kyle Pellett of Indianapolis, IN, Jay Pellett of Minneapolis,MN, Courtney Palmer and husband Jason of Des Moines,IA, Bryn Gillis of Laguna Niguel, CA; three great-grandchildren, Cale, Madeline and Connor; her AFS son Reub da Silva and family of Brazil; one sister Ruth Falk and husband Wayne of Omaha, NE; two brothers-in-law, Ted Pellett and wife Kay of Atlantic and Fred Pellett of North Carolina; one sister-in-law Haleen Pellett of Atlantic; and a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vallie Pellett; one brother Lawrence Varley; one sister Arlene Pellett.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Eloise will be held Saturday, January 26, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic at 10:30 AM with Rev. Tompsie Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
