Scott Pederson

Scott Pederson, 39, of Atlantic, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Scott Michael Pederson was born on July 20, 1975, to Larry Carl Pederson and Karen Sue (Jackson) Pederson in the Corning, Iowa, Hospital. At two years old, Scott and his family moved to Atlantic, where he lived the rest of his life. He attended Atlantic Schools and Lewis Special Education for 4 1/2 years, before being home schooled through the rest of his school years. Scott started to work at Cass Inc. on March 26, 1996. He moved to Willow Heights on November 22, 2004.

Growing up, he got excited to go to Grandma Pederson's farm. Scott loved fishing when he found the time. He had an extensive collection of bags of all kinds, from fanny packs to back packs. He loved to listen to Country Music and stayed up on the weather predictions, with an ear bud playing KJAN in one ear at almost any time of the day. If a storm was brewing, Scott got on the phone to alert family and friends; he even called the Taxi Lady. Scott never knew a stranger. He talked a lot; sometimes he just couldn't stop talking but that is because he loved people! He had a special love for Jessica Landwehr, and they cherished spending time together. His #1 love was for the Lord! He enjoyed telling others about Jesus, praying for anyone that had a need and looked forward to times of prayer with Pastor Fisher. Scott dreamed of having his own apartment and now he has a room in his mansion in Heaven.

He is survived by his parents, Larry and Karen Pederson of Atlantic; his brother, Matt Pederson of Adair; nephews, Brennan and Gavin of Adair; fiancée, Jessica Landwehr of Atlantic; paternal grandmother, Bertha Pederson of Atlantic; maternal grandfather, Merl (Debra) Jackson of Corning, Iowa; twelve uncles; eleven aunts; thirty-eight cousins; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandpa, Lawrence Pederson; maternal grandma, Valora (Connie) Jackson; and his cousin, Jazmine.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 7, 10:30 a.m. at First Assembly, with Pastor Guy Fisher, officiating. Family will meet friends and relatives at 9:30 a.m. until service time, Thursday, at the church.

Open viewing will be available Wednesday, May 6, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Roland Funeral Home.
