Obituary for Dudley Dee Paul

DUDLEY DEE PAUL

Dudley Dee Paul, 62, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully, June 10, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.
The son of Norman Dudley & Norma Jeanne (Darrow) Paul, he was born December 5, 1951, in Red Oak, Iowa. The family lived in southwest Iowa during his early years, moving to Pompano Beach, Florida, when he was in grade school. He graduated from Pompano Beach High School and went on to study instrument repair. Dudley owned and operated Pro Music in Jacksonville. Over the years, one of his greatest loves was playing drums with various bands and he spent much time traveling with them, including travel in Europe and Africa. Dudley cared greatly for animals and had many beloved pets. Though Dudley lived many miles from most of his family, he had a very tender heart toward them and loved to show up randomly for surprise visits! More than once his sister was asked by her family to retrieve an item from a closet in the house, only to be shocked by finding her unexpected brother wearing an ornery grin and a lampshade on his head.
Dudley is survived by his mother, Jeanne Huish of Thatcher, AZ; sister, Connie Keith of Thatcher, AZ; seven nieces and nephews and their families; aunt, Amy Jo Roland and her husband, Warren of Atlantic, IA; uncle, Maynard Paul and his wife, Lois of Burnsville, MN; and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Norman D. Paul; step-father, Charlie Huish; maternal grandparents, Clair & Hattie Darrow; paternal grandparents, Adolph, Sr. & Jo Paul; aunts and uncles, Adolph Paul, Jr and his wife, Priscilla, Larry Darrow and his wife, Lola and Dorothy Ackerman, who passed away June 9, 2014, and her husband, Rollie; and brother-in-law, Dr. J. Ronald Keith, who passed away September 6, 2014, in Arizona.
A joint luncheon and visitation (in conjunction with his Aunt Dorothy Ackerman) will take place at 12:30 PM, Saturday, September 20, at the Roland Funeral Home. Following at 3:00 PM will be a Celebration of Life. The interment of cremated remains will take place at the Atlantic Cemetery
