Obituary for Joshua Wallace Park Sr.

JOSHUA W. PARK SR. Joshua Wallace Park Sr. was born on July 5, 1944 in Cincinnati, OH to LaRue and Gertrude (Gooding) Park. Josh went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2008 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Josh graduated from Walnut High School in 1964. He married Delores Wittmuss on June 14, 1964. Together they had four children; Samuel, Janet, Charles and Joshua Jr. Josh married Leona (Adams) Hansen on December 30, 1989. With this union came 7 step children; Donald, Laura, Gene, Karmen, Kevin, Toni and Matthew. Josh worked as a mechanic most of his life including owning his own business, Atlantic Transmissions, and most recently as a manager at Wal Mart Tire and Lube Express. He was a very hard worker. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Atlantic where he and Lee drove the church bus for the past 16 years. Josh enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, playing games and reading. His garage was one of his favorite places to be. He enjoyed helping everybody! He also loved his Scottie, Kiltie. Survivors include his wife Leona; his children Samuel Park and his wife Christine of Alamogordo, NM, Janet Harvey and her husband Keith of Anita, Charles Park and his wife Jamey of Atlantic, Joshua Park Jr. and his wife Jacque of Atlantic, Don Holaday and his friend Trudy of Cumberland, Laura Champlin and her husband Brian of Atlantic, Gene Holaday of Atlantic, Karmen Roland and her husband Clint of Atlantic, Kevin Holaday and his friend Sarah of Atlantic, Toni Hansen and her fiancé Randy of Atlantic, and Matthew Hansen and his fiancée Laura of Atlantic; 21 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; his brothers and sisters Dorothy (Charles) Knee of Little Sioux, IA, Mary (Wayne) Andersen of Knoxville, IA, Norma (Jim) Marsh of Elliott, Harold (Joanne) Park of Gering, NE, Paul Park of Copperas Cove, TX and Jude (Kim) Park of Great Bend, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father LaRue Park, his mother Gertrude Park and a brother Jonnie Lee Park.Funeral InformationHis funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 20 at the First Assembly of God in Atlantic with Rev. Guy Fischer officiating. The committal service will be held in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic.
