MARILYN J. NORTHRUP Marilyn J. Northrup, 70, of the Lewis-Griswold area, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2008, at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, IA. Marilyn Jean Fraizer was born in Atlantic on September 18, 1937, the daughter of Roy and Jean Fraizer. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1957. On August 18, 1957, she married Harlan Northrup in Atlantic, IA. To this union were born two children, Rodney Dean, and Becky Jo. Marilyn and Harlan have farmed through the years. Marilyn was a member of the Lewis United Congregational Methodist Church. She was active as the choir director for many years. Marilyn enjoyed her friends, family, especially her grandchildren, and playing cards. Marilyn was well known for her great cooking skills. Survivors include her husband Harlan, her children, Rodney Northrup and wife Amy of Griswold, IA and Becky Kirchhoff and friend Creed Lange, also of Griswold, IA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Justin Kirchhoff and fiancé Joelle Kline of Ames, IA, Kyle Kirchhoff of Griswold, IA, Zach Robinson of Springfield, MO, Makayla and Rachel Northrup of Griswold, IA. Her sister Annette and husband Jay Cookman of West Des Moines, IA are also survivors, along with sister-in-law Marilyn Burkhardt and husband Bill of AZ and brother-in-law Marlan Norhrup and wife Betty of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents.Funeral InformationHer funeral will be at 10:30 Saturday morning, February 23, in the First United Congregational Methodist Church in Lewis, Iowa. Pastor Christine Tinker will officiate. The interment will follow in the Oak Wood Cemetery in Lewis. There will be a visitation at Roland Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 on.
