Shirley Nolte

Shirley Leona Nolte, 71, of Atlantic passed away early Thursday morning, January 24, 2002, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital.The daughter of Guy Allison and Daisy Perl (Walker) Butler, Shirley was born January 3, 1931 northeast of Atlantic where she grew up and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Don Nolte on June 3, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. Shirley was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. She worked as a clerk at Spurgeon's in Atlantic and she was an active member of the Atlantic Whirl-A-Ways Square Dance Club.Surviving are her husband Don of Atlantic; six children, Linda Lensch and husband Leland of Elliott, Iowa, Tom Nolte in his wife Nancy of Grass Lake, Michigan, Keith Nolte of Carroll, Iowa, Cindy Sarsfield and her husband Royce of Atlantic, Dan Nolte of Loveland, Colorado, and Denise Klever and her friend Don of Atlantic; one sister Beverly Moller of Omaha; one sister-in-law Nadine Butler of Atlantic; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Doris Evans of Elliott, Iowa, Marlene and Alfred Potter of Harvard, Illinois and Judy Swope of Atlantic; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Bernard Butler; one sister Maxine Grinstead; one sister-in-law Eleanor Butler; and two brothers-in-law, Logan Grinstead and Raymond Moller.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Shirley will be held Saturday, January 6, 2002, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic at 2:00 PM with Pastor George A. Krengel of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
