Rowena Nolte

Rowena Nolte, 80, of Wiota, Iowa passed on May 12, 2003 at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Rowena was the only child born to Frank L. Lorey and Pearl (Rector) Lorey. She was raised by her beloved Grandparents Ella and Enoch Rector and lived in the Atlantic and Wiota area. She married Vernon Brown in January 1939. From this union four children were born, Janet Lee, James Edgar, Robert and Richard Wayne. On September 9, 1965 she married Leroy (Bud) Nolte. The couple farmed in rural Wiota until his death in March 2000. Rowena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband "Bud&"; two sons, Robert and Richard; and one granddaughter Leslie Ann Sunderman. Rowena is survived by her daughter Janet and her husband Gordon Thomas of rural Villisca, IA., a son Jim Brown and his wife Liz of Columbia, South Carolina, two step-daughters Joy Mills and Jackie Ellis and her husband Terry from Mississippi. Eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a number of relatives and friends.
