Obituary for Inez Maxine Nevins

Inez Maxine Nevins, 69, of Atlantic passed away Monday, October 8, 2001, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital.The daughter of Joy Cecil and Lucille Mary (Chapin) Anderson, Inez was born April 14, 1932, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was reared in Council Bluffs. She graduated in 1950 from the Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs. She attended the University of Iowa from 1950 to 1952. Inez was united in marriage to Donald Edward Nevins on September 3, 1955 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Following marriage they lived in Manchester, Iowa for a year, Council Bluffs, Iowa for a year and a half, Carroll, Iowa for eight years and then moved to Atlantic. Inez worked as a bookkeeper for Akin Building Center for 22 years. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, BPO Does #23, Alter and Rosary Society, Secretary of Retarded Association in 1965 and was a den mother for the Boy Scouts for 10 years.Surviving are her husband Donald Nevins; two daughters, Peggy Petersen and her husband Randy of Manson, Iowa, Connie Nevins of Atlantic; five sons, Donald Nevins II and his wife Nancy of Atlantic, Richard Nevins and his wife Cindee of Papillion, Nebraska, Greg Nevins and his wife Jayne of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jeff Nevins and his wife Joni of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Steve Nevins and his wife Wendy of Avoca, Iowa; four sisters, Eileen Anderson Chase, Shirley , Karen and Joyce Anderson; five brothers, Keith, Benny, Gary, David, and Mike Anderson; 13 grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Julie, Lindsay, Chase, Dusty, Krissy, Eric, Aaron, Janette, Jamie, and Kasie; five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Edward Anderson and a sister Pearl Anderson.Funeral InformationA funeral mass for Inez will be held on October 13, 2001 at 10:30 AM at the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, Iowa with Msgr. Lawrence Beeson officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Catholic Cemetery.
