Fayette “Fay” Ellen Nelson
Fay Nelson, of Anita, Iowa, passed away, at the age of 99 years, while a resident of the Colonial Manor in Anita on March 2, 2012.
Fay was born in Anita to Guy and Laura Semelroth Deeming on September 24, 1912. She grew up there and attended school in Anita. On January 3, 1928, Fay was united in marriage to James R. Nelson in the Presbyterian parsonage. They moved to Wichita, KS in 1930 and then lived in Green County for 20 years. She will be remembered for the years that she worked enthusiastically with her gardening, canning, cooking and helping her husband with the farm work. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; a son, Rex, in 1949; brothers, Ralph, Harold, George and William Deeming; her sister, Anita Jones; one niece, Priscilla Paul and nephews, William D. in 1918, Charles W. in 1922, Bernard R. in 1925 and Byron Wayne Jones in 1949.
Fay is survived by a nephew, Robert E. Jones and friend, Rosie Schroeder, both of Anita; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
