Obituary for Lola Lorraine Mundt

Lola Lorraine Mundt, 83, Atlantic, Iowa, formerly of Glenbrook, Iowa, passed away Monday morning, December 30, 2002, at the Heritage House in Atlantic.Lola was born April 20, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up in Springfield, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Herman Mundt, September 20, 1939 in Papillion, Nebraska. Following married they farmed northeast of Springfield, Nebraska before moving to Glenbrook, Iowa in 1946. They continue to farm northeast of Glenbrook until the death of Herman in 1985. Following his death, Lola moved to Atlantic, Iowa. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic.Surviving are two sons, Robert (Bob) Mundt and his wife Marilyn of De Witt, Iowa and David Mundt and his wife Pat of Neola, Iowa; a daughter Kathleen (Kathy) Henningsen and her husband Mike of Atlantic; eight grandchildren, Ann, Brad and Beth Henningsen of Atlantic, Scott Mundt in his wife Lonnie of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Chad Mundt and his wife Amy of Wadsworth, Ohio, Kris Gunderson and her husband Kevin of Beebeetown, Iowa, Kelly Seidler and her husband Keith of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Todd Mundt of Nevada, Iowa; three-step grandchildren, Michele Nuehring and her husband Corey of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mark Peters and Mike Peters both of De Witt, Iowa; eight great-grandchildren; her in-laws, Lillian Beck of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Margaret Joern of Springfield, Nebraska, Grace Safarik and her husband Rich of Lincoln, Nebraska; a brother Jack Beck and his wife Audrey of Grand Island, Nebraska; and a number of nieces and nephews.Lola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herman and one brother Herbert Beck.Funeral InformationA committal service for Lola will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2003, at Fairview Cemetery south of Papaillion, Nebraska. There will be a memorial service at the Zion Lutheran Church on Thursday, January 2, at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Allen D. Hellwege officiating.
