Jimmy Morgan

Jimmy (Jim) L. Morgan age 77 went to his heavenly home on November 08, 2020. His devotion and firm belief in God supported him in life’s endeavors and ultimately gave him peace.

Jim was born to the late Ira D. and Dorothy Morgan, in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 8, 1943.

Jim was a character to say the least. He was a rodeo clown, master carpenter, Boy Scout Master, t-ball coach and sponsor, Hop n Flop Bunny Goats 4-H leader, John Wayne enthusiast, and Nebraska Husker Fan. He was immersed in the Christian community through many aspects of ministry. Jim discipled youth and adults through the AWANA Ministry, lead church camp as well as taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Jim found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He is sure to be fishing now with Peter and Paul as well as with many loved ones.

Jim married his best friend, Janet S (Uhri) Morgan on July 3, 1965 in Humboldt, Nebraska. Together they raised four children. As an adult Jim dedicated his life to God and encouraged his children and grand-children to explore the beauty of the gospels.

Jim always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how big or small. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.

Jim is survived by his wife, Janet Morgan; his daughters, Holly (Teddy) Majaw, Tiffany (Carlos) Benavides and Jamie (Keith) Elliott; his daughter-in-law, Michele Morgan; his grandchildren, Patricia (Mike) Bare, Rory Morgan, Maggie (Nick) Millican, Lily Elliott, Nathan Mangiameli, Olivia Mangiameli, Abigail Majaw, Keona Majaw, Isabella Majaw, Erin Elliott, Grace Benavides and Jack Benavides; his great-grandchildren, Cadence Bare, Audrey Millican and Samuel Millican and his sister, Sherry (Stuart) Bussard.

He is preceded in death by his son, Schaun Morgan; his parents, Ira D and Dorothy Morgan; and his brother, Ira H (Mary) Morgan.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday November 14th at the Evangelical Free Church located at 1 E 22nd St, Atlantic, IA 50022.
