Helen Leona Molgaard
Helen Leona Molgaard, 88, of Atlantic, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2001, at Heritage House.The daughter of Charles August and Lenora Channon Foss, Helen was born September 26, 1913, in Exira, Iowa. She was reared East of Exira and her family moved into Exira in the late 1920s and she graduated in 1931 from the Exira High School. Helen was United in marriage to Fullmer Molgaard September 19, 1934, at the Exira Christian church. Following marriage they lived in Brayton and she taught music. They were members of the Exira Christian church and moved to Atlantic in 1947. They joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church where Helen was a member of W.E.L.C.A. Helen was a member of the Cass County cancer born of what she served over 25 years. As well as being a member of the Cass County Hospital Auxiliary she was also a Paul Harris Fellow in Conjunction with the International Rotary Club. She also served as a board member of the local Meals on Wheels. She belonged to the Priscilla club and enjoyed China painting and hand work along with her music.Helen is survived by her husband, Folmer; one son, John Molgaard and his wife, Karen of Atlantic; two daughters, Mary L. Zellmer and her husband, Stan, of Atlantic, and Sue McCoy and her husband, Pat, of Lincoln, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, John Molgaard of Omaha, Peter Molgaard of Atlantic, Mark Zellmer and his wife, Pattee, of Creston, Susan Liston and her husband, Duane of Downers Grove, Illinois, Paul Zellmer and his wife, Mary Agnes, of Geneva, Illinois, Mike McCoy and his wife, Anne, of Naperville, Illinois, Kathy Stock and her husband, died, of Omaha, and to McCoy and his wife, Ann, of Las Vegas, Nevada; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents: two brothers, Lester Foss and Wesley Foss.Roland Funeral Service -- Atlantic, IowaFuneral InformationFuneral services for Helen will be held on Friday, October 12, 2001, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Atlantic, Iowa, with Pastor Ron Barnett officiating.
