Kristie Mills

Kristie Karlene Mills, born March 30, 1964, died with family by her side August 9, 2016, at the Exira Care Center, Exira, Iowa.

Kristie was born to Kenneth and Leota "Peggy" (Macumber) Snyder, joining an older sister, Kennett Kay; almost 7 years later another sister came along, Kennell Kelli. Kristie loved being outside as a kid, loved being around the machinery and going with her father doing the field work. It wasn't long before she had her own tasks to do and off she went to help with the farm.

She graduated Audubon High School in Audubon, IA, where she loved to play basketball and run track. To this day, she holds the long jump record of 17' 2 3/4". After high school she continued to work on the family farm side by side with her dad until 2011.

She met her husband on October 4, 1994, and she and Matt both say it was love at first sight. They were married on March 3, 1997, and 2 children were born to them. After 2011, Kristie worked side by side with her husband until her health forced her to stop.

Kristie loved bible study, Christian and Christmas music, working in the dirt and she loved her children and grandchildren very, very much.

Preceding her in death are her mother, Peggy Snyder; grandfather, Walt Snyder; uncle, Ronnie Snyder; grandfather, James Cortner; grandparents, Dorothy and Calvin Macumber; and uncle, Gary Macumber.

Survivors include her husband, Matt Mills; her children, Danielle Warren and her husband, Jeremy Warren of Neosho, MO, Robert Malloy and his wife, Andrea Malloy of Exira, IA, Mathew Mills, Darien Mills and her two step-children, Tyler Mills and Cody Mills all of Atlantic, IA. Extended family include, her father, Kenneth Snyder and his wife, Marcia; her grandmother, Frances Cortner; her sisters, Kennett Palmer and her husband Bruce Palmer, Kennell Gust and her significant other, Matt Denny; her step-brother, Jerry Lange and his wife Cathy Lange; nieces and nephews, Branden Nelsen and his wife Mindy Nelsen, Whitney Nelsen, Chayse Gust, Ashlee Gust, Jesse Hanke, Hannah Lange, and Joshua Lange. Her precious grandchildren are Dawson, Dillon, Dakota and Brice Warren of Neosho, MO and Jocelyn and Trace Malloy of Exira, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 12th, at the Atlantic Evangelical Free Church, with Pastor Al Seehusen of the Bethany Evangelical Free Church officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Signing of the guest book will be held daily from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Roland Funeral Home.
