Obituary for Arthur Lewis Miller

Arthur (Art) Lewis Miller, 71, of Elliott, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at his residence.The son of Harley Alfred and Lela Frances (Walker) Miller, Art was born January 4, 1930 south of Anita where he grew up and graduated from Anita High School in 1947. Following high school, he entered the United States Navy and was discharged about ten years later. Following his service in the Navy, he lived in Chicago working construction until an accident hospitalized him for two years. He then lived in Omaha and later worked as a security guard at Benton Harbor, Michigan. He then retired and moved back to the Atlantic and Elliott areas.Surviving are one son, Gary Miller, of Wisconsin: one brother, James Miller, of rural Wiota; one sister, Frances Denise Lueders and husband, Ron, of Omaha; one sister-in-law, Jeannine Miller of Davenport; and a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol; his second wife, Ruth; and two brothers, Jess and Marion Miller.Funeral InformationServices for Arthur were held Monday, August 13, 2001, at 10:30 AM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Pastor Gordon Scott of the Elliott Methodist Church officiating.
