Ross Michaels

Ross Michaels, 82, a longtime resident of Cumberland, Iowa died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. He was born, the son of Roy and Gertrude (Drager) Michaels, northwest of Cumberland on October 29, 1922. At the age of six, he moved to the family farm two miles west of Cumberland. Ross served in the United States Army. He married Irene Voss on November 18, 1945 in Massena and the couple farmed throughout their years together. He also trucked and worked in construction. Ross is survived by his daughter, Carol Michaels of Omaha, Nebraska; his son, Bruce Michaels and his wife, Cindy of Cumberland; his sister, Ferne Howell of Tulsa Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Scott Michaels and his wife, Amanda, Lisa Michaels, Dustin Michaels and Jessi Michaels; two great grandchildren and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
