Michael Fancolly

Michael Dean Fancolly was born September 22, 1952, in Atlantic, Iowa.  Mike passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 20, 2023, at Atlantic Specialty Care at the age of 70.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bette (Sewell) Fancolly.

Mike is survived by his brother, Ken Fancolly (Peggy) of Raymore, MO; nephews, Chris Fancolly (Sheri) of Overland Park, KS and Travis Fancolly (Arienne) of Pleasant Hill, MO; niece, Beth Tucker (Andrew) of Peculiar, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mike was a long-time resident of Atlantic, Iowa, graduating from Atlantic High School.  He attended college at the University of Northern Iowa and Iowa Western Community College.  Mike spent many of his adult years taking care of the family farm east of Atlantic until he and Bette moved to town.  He was instrumental in taking excellent and loving care of his father, John and mother, Bette as they grew older.

Mike was an avid photographer and took many pictures of people, sights, and interesting areas in and around Atlantic.  His love of rock music culminated in many CDs of his favorite artists.

A Celebration of Life visitation and luncheon will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28^th at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.  A memorial graveside service will be held at the Atlantic Cemetery immediately following the time together at the funeral home.

Memorials may be designated to the family for later designation to Care Initiatives Hospice.
