Aaron Joseph Messenger
Aaron Joseph Messenger, 19, of Atlantic, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha as a result of a two-vehicle accident.The son of Dennis Joe and Jeri Jean (Behrens) Messenger, Aaron was born February 19, 1962 in Harlan, Iowa. He lived most of his life in Atlantic and graduated from Atlantic High School with the class of 2000. Aaron was employed by Atlantic Carriers from 1996 until August 2001. Most recently he was employed at Hoye Feed and Grain as a truck mechanic and farm hand. He attended the Evangelical Free Church in Atlantic and had participated as a leader in the AWANA program.Aaron loved cars and pick-ups and big booming stereos. He had a special knack with children, a quick humor and a big smile. Aaron loved his family, friends and his Savior. He had a generous nature and was an organ donor.Aaron is survived by his parents Denny and Jeri of Atlantic; his sister Holly of Atlantic; paternal grandparents Jack and Velma Messenger of Avoca, Iowa; maternal grandmother LuGene Behrens of rural Shelby; four aunts, Kathy Messenger of Avoca, Judy Pixley and husband John of Logan, Iowa and their children Jared and Joel; Julie Klindt and husband Dean of Harlan, Iowa and their children Dusten, Drea, Daylon and Drase; and Jodie Fredericks and husband Sean of Coralville, Iowa. He is also survived by his great-grandmother Laura Iversen of Council Bluffs; a special great-aunt Marilyn Lee of Sioux Falls; his girlfriend Tara Hinson and many friends.Funeral InformationServices for Aaron will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2001, at 1:30 PM at the Evangelical Free Church in Atlantic, Iowa with Pastor Terry Schoenfeld and Pastor Alan Seehusen officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, Iowa.
