CLEMMA THEODOSIA MCKINLEY
Clemma Theodosia McKinley, age 100 and a resident of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away at the Heritage House on Thursday, November 21st, 2013.
Clemma was born August 8, 1913 in Clay Center, Nebraska to George Y. Burrus and Eva Mae Blagg Burrus. She attended school in Nebraska and Iowa graduating from high school in Sioux City, Iowa. She also attended college for a short time. On May 19, 1935, Clemma was united in marriage to Donald E. McKinley She was employed as a bookkeeper and worked at Olives dress shop in Atlantic until her retirement. Her greatest joy was her family including children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she also enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Schwanke and husband Dennis of Atlantic and her granddaughter Jill Kiger and husband Matt of Winterset, Iowa; grandson, Jon Schwanke and wife Darcy of Atlantic, and foster Grandson Gary Weimers and wife Penny of Pawnee City, Nebraska; Great Grandchilden; Garrett Schwanke, Jordan Vetter and husband Jake Vetter, of Atlantic, Gavin and Maria Kiger of Winterset, and great great grandchildren Ayden and Abel Vetter; and several nieces and nephews.
Clemma was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, George and Eva Mae Burrus; two sisters and one brother, Margaret Louise Newsted, Georgia Nelson and James Newman Burrus.
There will be a graveside service for Clemma at the Lincoln Memorial Park in Lincoln, Nebraska.
