Elizabeth McKeown

Elizabeth (Beth) McKeown, 96, a resident of Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Tuesday evening, October 7, 2003.Beth was born November 1, 1906 to William and Catherine Jones in Calloa, Missouri. She grew to adulthood there. On September 4, 1925, Beth was married to Lester Breeling. They moved to Atlantic and then to Sac City. In December of 1951, they moved to Harlan. In 1967 Lester retired and in 1969 he passed away. After his death, Beth moved to Hemet, California where she lived until October of 1982. She then returned to Harlan and married Ronald McKeown on October 18, 1982. They resided there until his death in 1991. In June of 1995 Beth moved to Heritage House in Atlantic and lived there until her death on October 7, 2003. She was a member of the Golden Rule Chapter #194 O.E.S. in Atlantic and a member of the Methodist Church in Harlan.She is preceeded in death by her parents; her two husbands Lester Breeling and Ronald McKeown and five brothers.Beth is survived by two stepchildren John McKeown and wife Stella and Ann and husband Frank Burgensen; four step grandchildren; nieces and many friends.Funeral InformationServices for Beth will be held Saturday, October 11, 2003, at 1:45 P.M. at the Roland Funeral Home with Reverend Gary DeGeest of the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
