Patricia Ann Marsh
PATRICIA ANN MARSH Patricia "Pat" Ann Marsh, age 75, passed away at her residence in Atlantic, Iowa on Sunday, February 1, 2009. Pat was born June 26, 1933 to James Donald and Rose Della (Cron) Nelson at home southwest of Atlantic. She attended school in Atlantic and graduated from the Atlantic High School in 1951. On September 18, 1954, Pat was united in marriage to Jerald (Jerry) D. Marsh in Hiawatha, KS. She lived her entire life in Atlantic except for 5 years when the family lived southwest of Brayton, IA. Pat was employed by the telephone company for 34 years. She was a member of the Marne First United Methodist Church and a member of the DOES organization in Atlantic. Pat was a very active person. She enjoyed counted cross stitch and was a wonderful seamstress, a very good cook and willing to try anything. Pat loved to baby-sit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, did volunteer work with the Cass County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, delivered meals on wheels, did monthly calling for life line and delivered library books to shut-ins. Pat enjoyed fishing, bird watching and nature in general. She loved going to school activities for her children and grandchildren. Pat and Jerry loved to dance and they danced beautifully. She just enjoyed life. Pat is survived by a daughter, Jerene (Alan) Erickson, of Atlantic and a son Jim Marsh of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Matthew (Kris) Erickson, Jennifer (Nathan) Schoenfeld, Nathan (Melissa) Erickson, James (Mikel) Erickson, Heather Marsh and Wiley Hayes, Stephanie (Kevin) Neumayer; great-grandchildren, Dakota Erickson, Christian Kardell, Shay Kardell, Devin Erickson, Brycen Erickson, Landon Erickson, Cylas Hayes and Desirae Hayes; two brothers, Donald (Pat) Nelson of Mt. Vernon, WA and Roger (Joyce) Nelson of Atlantic, IA; two sisters, Darlene Frizzell of Oakland, IA and Marilyn (Duane) Nippert of Villisca, IA; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jerry in 1986; one sister, Dorothy Chamberlain and one brother-in-law, Calvin Frizzell.Funeral InformationServices for Pat will be held on Thursday, February 5, at 10:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic with Pastor Melodee Carstens of the Marne Methodist Church officiating. There will be an open visitation at the Roland Funeral Home until 7:00 Wednesday evening. On Thursday morning there will be viewing at the church from 9:00 until services.
