Mark E. Johnson, 58, of Clive, Iowa, entered his Heavenly Home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Mark Edward was born on August 15, 1967, in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Duane Edward and Twyla Rae (Wohlhutter) Johnson. The family made Creston, Iowa, home in 1972 and he attended Creston Community Schools. Mark graduated from Creston High School in the Class of 1986, and after he completed two years at Southwestern Community College he transferred to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
He took a deep interest in airplanes, from working towards obtaining his pilot’s license and going on multiple flights to researching heavily all about how the mechanics and aerodynamics work and tinkering on rebuilding museum aircraft. Mark had always dreamed of being able to rebuild a plane. His favorites to watch on TV were Westerns and golf, which he also liked to play.
Mark and his twin brother, Martin were very close; Martin described him as a great brother who was always there for him. The two of them looked forward to working on projects together, including the one of building an airplane. Mark enjoyed spending time with family and car trips with Martin and their dog, Betsy Ross to simply visit.
Mark attended New Hope Church in Adel and held a deep faith and belief in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He shared the word of the Lord any chance he could and read deep in the Prophecies, certain the Rapture is coming soon.
Mark is survived by his father, Duane Johnson of Clive, whom he has cared for over the last eight years; brothers, Martin Johnson (his twin) of Clive and Joel (Mary) Johnson of Lee’s Summit, MO; beloved dog, Betsy Ross; and many extended family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Twyla Johnson in 2015.
