Marilyn Mundorf, 88, of Lewis, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.
Marilyn, who lived in Lewis most of her life, was born on August 14, 1934, in Iowa City and was the only child of Albert and Ella Bees. She attended school in Lewis and graduated in 1952. Following graduation, she attended business school in Omaha, and worked as a secretary there for a year. Marilyn was married to John Logan Mundorf on April 18, 1954, Easter Sunday, at Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic, Iowa. She would loudly cheer for them as if she were there. She even played Granny Basketball in her 70s! She was very active in the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, holding leadership roles, giving many speeches and presentations. She belonged to the local Red Hat society and enjoyed their monthly outings. She also enjoyed playing cards and going to breakfast with her many friends.
