Florence Malone

Florence Bernice Malone, 92, of New Berlin, Wisconsin and formally of Atlantic, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2001, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was born on August 16, 1908, in Atlantic to John Frederick Durr and Ida Lucinda Day. She married Claude R. Malone on August 9, 1933 in Des Moines. From the time of her marriage until her husband's death she assisted in the operation of the Malone seed company founded by Charles E. Malone in 1916. Following her husband's death, she moved away from Atlantic to be closer to her son.Survivors include her son, Carl (Pat) Malone and his wife, June, of New Berlin, Wisconsin; her daughter-in-law, Sara Malone of Hinton, Iowa; five grandchildren, Craig Malone and his wife, Judy, of Brighton, Michigan, Cate Neuman and her husband, John, of Bonaparte, Iowa, Chris Malone and his wife, Dee, of Stirling, Nebraska, Christine McTaggart and her husband, Kirk, of Watseka, Illinois, and Cory Malone of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and six great-grandchildren, Curtis, Colby, Ceaton and Connor Malone, and Katie and Justin McTaggart.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude in 1985; her son, Charles (Fred) in 1988; two sisters, Vera Berry and Leila Leigan; and a brother, Ralph Durr.Funeral InformationFuneral services for Florence were held Thursday, April 19, 2001, at 2:00 PM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Father Glenn Rankin of Trinity Episcopal Church in Denison officiating.
