Eunice Mailander

Eunice H. Mailander, 90, of Atlantic, passed away Sunday evening, February 10, 2002, at Heritage House where she had been a resident. The daughter of Peter Christian and Esther (Peterson) Pedersen, Eunice was born August 5, 1911 in Shelby and attended grade school and high school in the Wiota area. She married Francis Mailander on August 31, 1927 in Wiota. They farmed for twenty-four years in the Wiota and Atlantic areas until 1953 and then moved to Atlantic. Eunice worked in the Atlantic school cafeteria for about ten years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic.Surviving are her husband Francis of Atlantic; one daughter Dolores Conger and her husband Robert of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Dean Brownlee and his wife Sue of Atlantic, Rita Edwards and her husband Noel of Parker, Colorado, Diane Poch and her husband Bill of Riverside, Iowa, Donna Luers and her husband Patrick of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mike Conger and his wife Linda of Salt Lake City, Utah, Joe Conger and his wife Kelli of Polk City, Iowa and Linda Wallish and her husband Bill of Lincoln, Nebraska; twenty great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter and son-in-law, Nadine and Marvin Brownlee; three brothers, Chester, Milton and Fred Pedersen; and one sister Marie Keller.Funeral InformationServices for Eunice will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Atlantic on February 14, 2002 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Tompsie Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
