Rebecca Mack, 65, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.
The daughter of Walter Gast and Frank and Dorothy (Hollingsworth) Stormer, Rebecca was born May 4, 1953, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She grew up in Marne, Iowa and graduated from the Atlantic High School in 1971.
When her children were growing up, she was the neighborhood mother and deeply enjoyed taking care of others. She had a fierce loyalty to family and was always there. Her kids called her “a collector of everything;” her favorite collection being her many grandchildren! She dearly loved being a grandmother and was so proud of each one. They spent many hours at home playing board games, sharing movie nights (and her vast VHS collection) and bowling on the Wii. Going out with Grandma could include anything from dinner dates to mudding! Everyone was welcome in her home, likely not leaving without her bringing a smile to your face, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She is survived by her children, Trina Sarsfield of Atlantic, Troy (Cheryle) Mack of Atlantic, Tony (Jessica) Mack of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jared (Kassie) Joyce of Atlantic, Jessica Pedrin of Audubon, and Jacqueline (Jake) Raymond of Council Bluffs; her sisters, Rhonda Ellis, Roxanna Myres, Ruth Swolley, and Robin Swolley; 15 grandchildren, Colby, Collin, Connor, Cayleigh, Erin, Emily, Skyler, Jase, Jacob, Clairabel, Brody, Bently, Drake, Tatyana and Asher; one great-granddaughter, Hazleigh; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy Stormer, two granddaughters, Anastasia and Aryana Joyce; and her brother, Ralph Stormer.
A Celebration of Life visitation, with the family present, will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Roland Funeral Home.
