Margaret Anne Lippincott
Margaret Anne Lippincott, a long time resident of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital at the age of 74 years.
Margaret was born July 21, 1938, to Chuck and Josephine Neiby in Omaha, NE. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1956. From there, Margaret attended Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, MO and graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. After graduation, Bill and Margaret moved to Gruver, IA where she accepted an elementary school teaching position. Margaret accepted different teaching positions in various towns including Wall Lake and Ankeny, IA. In 1971, they moved to Atlantic to manage and later purchase Claremar Fabrics, a drapery manufacturing business, and founded The Studio. Margaret returned to teaching in the Storm Lake, IA area and retired in 2000.
She was active with SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. Margaret was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society and served on the Atlantic school board. She founded a project which she was very passionate about, the elementary counseling program in the Saydel school system. Margaret was also a board member of Cass Inc.
One of Margaret's passions is camping. She would plan a trip several months in advance so not to miss any details. Bill and Margaret would travel to visit their kids and grandkids and sometimes camp in their yards.
On August 27 of this year, Margaret would have been married 52 years to Bill Lippincott. In addition to her husband, Bill of Atlantic, Margaret is survived by their three children, Shaun and his wife, Carrie, of State Center, IA, Michelle Claussen of Elkhart, IA, and Kristine Wolfe of Bridgman, MI; ten grandkids; three great grandkids; and a sister-in-law, Louise Neiby, of Sierra Madre, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Josephine; and her brother, C. Paul Neiby.
