Obituary for Loyd J. Linkletter

Loyd Linkletter, 79, long time resident of Atlantic, passed on at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, on Thursday afternoon, October 19, 2006.Loyd (better known as Link) was born on December 8, 1926 in Lewis Iowa, the son of John and Gertrude W. (Jahnke) Linkletter. He grew up and attended school in Lewis, where he graduated in 1944. He entered the U.S. Army in 1944, served in Korea for 18 months during WWII and held the rank of First Staff Sergeant. He was married to Miriam South on April 18, 1945 in Omaha, NE. The couple became parents of their daughter, Kathy who was joined by a sister, Becky, who passed on in infancy. Link was self-employed at "Link's 66" Service Station for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.He is survived by two grandchildren, Shelly Beyer of Casper WY and A.J.
