Richard Harold Lewis, 55, formerly of Cass County, Iowa, died Monday, August 16, 2021, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was born on May 22, 1966, in Audubon, Iowa, the son of Richard Wayne and Mary Bernita (Yokom) Lewis. Richard grew up in Colorado, Atlantic and Des Moines, Iowa. While living in Atlantic he enjoyed fishing at Bull Creek and playing little league baseball.
He continued his enjoyment of fishing into adulthood, taking any chance he could to cast a line. Richard was an avid motorcyclist; not only looking forward to going for a ride but also building and working on them. He loved animals, dogs especially, even though sometimes he may have taken it a little too far with some of the critters he welcomed into the house.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Sam (Jeff) Green of Atlantic and their children, Grigg, Wiatt and Jaxson; son, Richard Harold Lewis, Jr. of Council Bluffs; father, Richard Wayne Lewis of Anita; brother, Randall (Melanie) Lewis of Anita; sister, Charlotte (Alan) Allgaier of Utah; nephew, Chad and nieces, Bobbi Jo (Randy), Sadie (J Ray), Sierra (Nathan), Shelby and Marissa.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lewis and nieces, Tiffany Leann and Tina Louise Wilcox.
Cremation has taken place and no public services will be held.
