Sally Louise Lewer
Sally Louise Lewer, age 91, a longtime resident of Atlantic, passed away early Thursday morning, November 1, 2001, at the Colonial Manor in Anita. The daughter of Fred and Mary (Pulaski) Leuth, Sally was born September 19, 1910 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. She grew up in southwestern Iowa and attended and graduated from school in the Cass County school system. Her marriage to Russell Lowell Lewer took place may 3, 1936 in Blair, Nebraska. They lived in Atlantic and later moved to Audubon for twenty years where Sally worked for the Audubon Bakery and Audubon News Guide. They returned to Atlantic in 1960 and Sally worked for Montgomery Ward in Atlantic. Surviving are one son Richard Lewer of Kona, Hawaii; one daughter Janice Geiger and husband Robert of Jesup, Georgia; eight grandchildren, John Russell Geiger, Roland George Geiger, Randall Wade Chard, Hollis Louise Roberts, Ellyn Jane Villarose, Russell Roy Chard, Scott Richard Lewer, Jon Richard Lewer and eleven great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russell, one daughter Ellyn Jane Chard; two brothers, Bruno and Louie Leuth and one sister Ella Leuth Dahlberg.Funeral InformationA graveside service will be held for Sally on Saturday, November 3, 2001, at 3:30 PM at the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, Iowa with Rev. Chuck Smith of the First Baptist Church in Atlantic officiating.
