Ethel M. Leander
Ethel Maxine (Sickles) Leander, a resident of Lewis, IA, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital at the age of 81.Ethel was born South of Greenfield, January 10, 1925 to Cledes Finley and Edna Gerturde (Williams) Sickles. Ethel grew up in the Greenfield and Bridgewater area. She attended Bridgewater schools and graduated from high school there in the class of 1943. March 31, 1947, she married Raymond (Jack) George Leander, in Manhattan, Kansas. To this union four sons were born, Leroy, Larry, Lyle and Wayne. Ethel was a homemaker, worked for the Fontanelle Nursing Home and was owner/operator of the E&R Tavern in Lewis, IA. She was a member of the Adair County American Legion Auxiliary.
