Lary Mills

Lary Mills, 85, of Massena, Iowa, died November 7, 2021.

Lary Lee was born on February 17, 1936, the son of Chester and Esther (Lary) Mills.  He graduated from Massena High School in 1954.  Following graduation, he entered the United States Air Force and served from September of 1954 to March of 1958.  Lary was united in marriage to Elizabeth Marie Waters on August 17, 1963.

Lary is survived by his wife, Beth of Massena; sons, Matt (Becky) Mills of Atlantic and Charlie (Lisa) Mills of Massena; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Esther Mills; son, Michael F.C. Mills on January 14, 1983; and daughter-in-law, Kristie Mills.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 69488 Wichita Road, Cumberland, Iowa.  Military honors will be given by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard and the Atlantic Color Guard.  A lunchoen will be held following the service in the parish center.  Burial will be held at a later date at Victoria Township Cemetery, south of Massena.

Memorials may be made to St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, the Massena Fire Department or the Cumberland Fire Department.
