Rose Alice Larsen
ROSE ALICE (HUNTER) LARSEN Rose Alice Larsen, age 94, of Atlantic, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. Rose Larsen, was born the daughter of Ralph C. and Frances Mae (Barnett) Hunter on May 17, 1916. Rose grew up, attending school in Atlantic and soon became a nurse"s aid. She was employed in the Atlantic Hospital when it was located on East 5th Street. She lived most of her life in Atlantic until she moved to Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, where she resided for three years. She then lived three years at Friendship Home in Audubon and at last at Atlantic Nursing and Rehab in Atlantic. She will be remembered by her loved ones for having a great sense of humor. Rose is survived by her sister Mrs. Marian Pell and husband, Robert of Scottsdale, Arizona; cousins; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gail Ray Hunter (was killed in action over France) in WWII, two brothers who died in infancy, Robert Lee Hunter and Wallace Leroy Hunter; and all of her aunts and uncles. Funeral Information There will be a memorial service on Tuesday July 20 at 3:00 P.M. at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. Open visitation will be available Monday July 19 from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M., also at Roland"s. The interment of cremated remains will take place in Atlantic Cemetery at a later date. Pastor Leon Hodges, Atlantic Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.
