Lois L. Larsen
Lois Lavon Larsen, age 79, of rural Atlantic, passed away Sunday, May 8, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.Lavon was born in Miller, South Dakota, on August 3, 1925 to Arthur Edward and Lois (Crist) Deskins. She graduated from high school and went on to Wessington Springs Teacher College in South Dakota for two years. On February 25, 1947, Lavon was married to Theodore (Ted) Larsen in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Walnut Grove Feed Company for 26 years and retired in 1987. Lavon was a member of the St. Paul"s Lutheran Church, the NGA Club, Woodcarvers and the Farmer"s Market.She is survived by her husband, Ted of Atlantic, IA; children, Thela Rubey of Red Oak, IA, Gail Larsen and wife, Donna of Emerson, IA, Glen Larsen and wife, Gloria of Atlantic, IA, Peggy Hamper and Eric Willougby of Atlantic, IA, Denise Newberg and husband, Pat of Oakland, IA, Sandy Aelleman of Austin, TX, and Bill Larsen of Atlantic, IA; grandchildren, Lisa Stocksleger and husband, Scott, Kim Bond and husband, Damien, Tina Larsen, Trisha Nichols and husband, Troy, Tom Larsen, Chris Larsen, Cherese Guyer and husband, Chet, Corey Hetrick and fiance, Alesha, Jason Newberg and wife Jennifer, Brett Newberg and wife Brandie, Zachary Newberg, Jordan Newberg and Tabitha Larsen; nine great grand children; one sister, Leona Eagle and husband, Ted of Wessington Springs, SD, sisters-in-law, Jeannette Andersen and husband, Earl of Oregon and Nellie Faye Hagberg and husband, Ray of Spencer, NE, numerous nieces and nephews.Lavon was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lois.Services for Lavon will be held Wednesday, May 11.
