He was an avid football and NASCAR fan, attending many races in Michigan and Indianapolis. He and Madonna traveled to Alaska and Cancun and took many trips on the motorcycle all over the United States. Larry looked forward to taking tractor rides on his Farmall Tractor throughout the area. After retirement many winters were spent in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
Surviving Larry are his wife, Madonna; daughters, Lauri (Rick) Boysen of Atlantic and Lynelle (Bob) Bjoin of West Des Moines; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Boysen, Adam (Stephanie) Boysen, Ashley (Jamie) Nutt, Jennifer (Jacob) Muehsam, Brandon (Kaitlyn) Bjoin, Matthew Bjoin and Nathan Bjoin; five great-grandchildren and one on the way, Mason and Harper, Hudson and Eli, and William.
