Mary Lang

Mary Maxine Lang, 88, of Atlantic, passed away Wednesday night, January 24, 2001, at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehab Center.The daughter of Jacob Erastus "Ras&" and Daisy Idessa Patten Lang, Mary was born December 19, 1912, in Atlantic where she grew up and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1930. Mary was a secretary for Walnut Grove Products, the Iowa Highway Patrol, and Jones, Cambridge and Carl Law firm.Surviving are six nieces: Sandra Brown and her husband, Marshall, of San Rafael, California and their three children, David, Brenda and Shauna; Debbie King Leistad and her husband Ed, of Atlantic and her son Andy Dennis and his wife, Mandy, of Hampton, Virginia; Susan King Muri and her husband, Roger, of Atlantic and her children, Kelly Rasmussen and his wife, Dorinda, of Atlantic and Kristi Dickey and her husband, Jeff, of Clarinda; Margo King Chester and her husband, Richard and their children, Brad Chester and his wife, Cheri, Teresa Stender and her husband, Tony, all of Cumberland and Jeni Chester of Massena; JoAnn King McBride and her husband, Ron, and their children, Trisha Keasey and her husband, Toby, Jamie and Brandon McBride, all of Atlantic; and Verna Morgan to of Lebanon, Oregon; one nephew, Dennis King of Atlantic and his children, Steven King of Norman, Oklahoma and Kathy King of Spencer; one brother-in-law, Deb King of Atlantic; and several great great-nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Zola Lang, Vera Willis, Stacy Doyle, Opal Tompkins, Iona Arthur and Avis King; and four brothers, Ted, Gail, Claude and Hobart Lang.Roland Funeral Service -- Atlantic, IowaFuneral InformationServices for Mary were held Saturday, January 27, 2001, at 11:00 AM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa with Pastor Ron Barnett officiating.Interment was in the Atlantic Cemetery at Atlantic, Iowa.
