Teddy Lane

Teddy Joe Lane, 58, formerly of Grant, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2001, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital.The son of Robert Woodrow and Eva Elizabeth (Bonnesen) Lane, Teddy was born October 18, 1943 in Atlantic, Iowa. He grew up in Atlantic and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1962. He was employed at Hetrick Brothers in their service station. Teddy was united in marriage to Rose Mary Vale on June 28, 1964 in Atlantic. Following marriage he was employed at Hetricks', Lang's Mobil Service Station, Sybert's Dairy and most recently at Van Ert Glass Company. Teddy was most apprciative of three organ transplants he received to help him enjoy life these latter years.Teddy is survived by one son Tracy Joe Lane and wife Sara of Cumberland, Iowa; one daughter Brenda Lea Briles and husband Jeff of Perry, Iowa; five grandchildren, Nicodemus and Courtney Lane and Davin, Larissa and Beau Briles; one step-grandchild Christina Brown; four brothers, Bob Lane and wife Alyce, Jim Lane and wife Ruth Ann, Dick Lane and wife Ann, Chuck Lane and wife Michele all of Atlantic; one sister Marlene Lary and husband Dean of Griswold; three uncles, Frank Lane of Des Moines, Bernard Land and wife Lois of Des Moines and Ed Lane and wife Viv of Atlantic; a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Eva Lane; his wife Rose Mary on July 20, 2000 and a niece Marcy Kay Lary in infancy.Funeral InformationServices for Teddy will be held on Monday, November 12, 2001, at 10:00 AM at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic with Rev. Chuck Smith of the First Baptist Church in Atlantic officiating. Interment will be in the Grant Cemetery in Grant, Iowa.
