Hazle Bonnie Landon
Hazle Bonnie Landon Hazle Landon, age 91, of rural Adair, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at her residence. Hazle Bonnie Clark was born to Curtis Leslie and Mary (Rourick) Clark on November 24, 1919 in Audubon County. She attended school in Exira and graduated from the Exira High School. On October 13, 1940, Hazle was married to George W. Landon in Maryville, Missouri. She taught school near Wiota then she and George farmed at Brayton, Wiota and Anita. Since 1951 they farmed south of Adair. George passed away April 27, 1996. Hazle belonged to Civic League and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren telling stories of the past. She is survived by daughters, Connie Frazier and husband Chuck of Polk City, IA, Shirley Wheatley and husband LeRoy of Adair, IA, Ruth Cave and husband Elvin of Redfield, IA; sisters, Alice White of Anita, IA and Imogene Woodman of Marne, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Hazle was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Landon, daughter, Maxine; sisters, Nellie Keenan and Marjorie Griffin; brothers-in-law, Ralph Woodman, Fred White, Joe Keenan and Arnold Griffin.Funeral Information There will be open visitation at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic, Iowa daily from 8:00 - 5:30 with a family visitation from 6:30 - 8:00 Friday evening. Services for Hazle are planned for Saturday, May 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Ray Higgins, of Adair, officiating. Interment will be in the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Atlantic.
