Loretta Lamberty

GRACE LAMBERTY Grace Lamberty, longtime resident of Atlantic, passed away at the age of 99, at Atlantic Nursing and Rehab on Friday, April 30, 2010. Loretta Grace was born, in Red Oak, Iowa, April 23, 1911, the daughter of Charles and Loretta Butler. She grew up in the Red Oak and Griswold area. and graduated from nursing school in Kansas City. Grace was married to Michael J. Lamberty on January 29, 1935 in Atlantic. The couple farmed in the Lewis and Wiota areas with the exception of eleven years in California during which time they owned and operated a service station and trapped chipmunks, while Mr. Lamberty was employed with the Plumas County in snow removal. Grace will be remembered as being very sociable and friendly lady. She was employed as a nurse, in the Atlantic Hospital, for a number of years and was a member of the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She is survived by a foster son, Joe Hock of Des Moines; her sister-in-law Jewell Butler of Columbia, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael in 1995; her parents; a brother Donald and his wife Dorthea Butler; her brother James Butler; and her sister Helen Schnoor and her husband Carl.Funeral InformationThere will be open visitation from 8:00 to 5:30 daily until family will meet with relatives and friends at 7:00 Monday evening, May 3, for a wake service and visitation, at Roland Funeral Home. Grace"s funeral mass will take place at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, on Tuesday, May 4, at 10:30 in the morning. Father Dan Siepker will officiate. Following the funeral mass, her committal service will take place in the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Atlantic.
