Nedra Nadine Lacy
Nedra Nadine Lacy, a long time resident of Atlantic, IA, and wife of the late Harold D. Lacy, passed away September 26 at the age of 92 years at Heritage House in Atlantic. Nedra is the daughter of Joseph A. Shaw and Jessie M. (Lowers) Shaw. She was born on September 21, 1919, and grew up in Exira, Iowa. Nedra was married to Harold Dawson Lacy on February 10, 1940. They were the parents of daughters, Elizabeth and Ruth Ann.
She attended the Atlantic Gospel Chapel and Sunnyside Bible Chapel and she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in young adulthood. A hobby of Nedra's was to collect antiques and collectibles. She was self-taught on the subject and values. She also enjoyed sewing for missionary projects.
Nedra was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband, and both of her daughters. Also, preceding her in death were two brothers, Reed Shaw of Charlotte, NC, and Gordon Shaw of Des Moines, IA; two sisters, Evelyn Johnson and Edna Herrick, both of Atlantic, IA; brothers-in-law, Floyd Lacy of Audubon, IA, Harley Johnson of Atlantic, IA, Voehl Noerenberg of Worthington, MN, Chester Roy of AK, and Ed. K. Andersen of Audubon, IA; sisters-in-law, Berniece Roy of AK, Dorothy Andersen of Audubon, IA, Geraldine Shaw of Charlotte, NC, and Ethel Noerenberg of Worthington, MN.
Surviving are seven grandchildren, Shane (Billie Jo) Fusselman of Omaha, NE, Rebecca Alysyn (Scott) Merrill of Ft. Wingate, NM, Lacy (Jeff) Beck of Pawnee, OK, Jerijah Triplett of Ft. Wingate, NM, Sheryl (Peter) Gentile of Albuquerque, NM, Carla Hauert of Albuquerque, NM, and Scott (Debra) Hauert of Phoenix, AZ; and great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Kendall, Evan and Madalyn Beck, Dawson and Dawn Fusselman, Patrick and Brendan Merrill, Gabi Barton, Jessica Triplett, and Brandon Gentile.
Also surviving are two brothers, Jerome Shaw of Bothell, WA and Bill (Shirley) Shaw of Audubon, IA; three sisters, Opal Smith of Clarion, IA, Norma McMahon and Alice (Duane) Brown of Atlantic, IA; one son-in-law, Robert Hauert of Albuquerque, NM, and one sister-in-law, Lois Lacy of Audubon, IA. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and friends.
