Kyle Archibald, 40, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Sunday, August 20, 2023, at his home.
Kyle Christopher was born to Kenneth Kent and Debbie June (King) Archibald on March 13, 1983, in Atlantic, Iowa. He grew up in Atlantic with his brother, Todd and sister, Melissa, and made countless friends along the way.
Following high school Kyle joined the United States Army Reserves and was called to serve his country in January of 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was deployed for 18 months and upon his honorable discharge moved around for a little bit, before settling back into the Atlantic area. This was when he received the greatest gift he could have ever imagined, his son, Jaxtin Kent was born.
Kyle loved being a father and lived for his son; he was his biggest fan and never shied away from bragging him up any chance he had! He loved watching him in any sport he was active in which included soccer, wrestling and football. Kyle taught Jax a lot about wrestling and was right there on the mat at the tournaments.
Kyle is survived by his son, Jaxtin; sister, Melissa (Mark) Carey; brother, Todd (Kelli) Archibald; nieces, Rayne (Blake) Thomas, Allison Archibald, and Madison Carey; nephews, Timothy Archibald, Nicholas Archibald, Jared Archibald, Kolton Carey, and Dawson Carey; great-nieces, Piper Thomas, Saylor Thomas and Wrenley Thomas; great-nephew, Archie Thomas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Debbie Archibald; paternal grandparents, Jack and Virginia Archibald; and his maternal grandparents, William and Inez King.
In honor of Kyle’s service to his country, Military Honors will be presented by the Atlantic Color Guard at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 17th at the Rotary Shelter at Schildberg Recreation Area in Atlantic. Following, the family welcomes you to a come and go visitation to share memories informally until 3:00 p.m.
A private family burial will be held at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a trust fund to be set up at a later date for Jaxtin.
