Obituary for Minnie Mae Koerth

Minnie Mae Koerth, 93, a long time resident of Atlantic, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2003 at the Atlantic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.The daughter of Harry and Nellie Barrett Martin, she was born September 23, 1909 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Following high school she graduated from Iowa State University. Minnie Mae was united in marriage to Stanley D. Koerth, April 14, 1935 in Galena, Illinois.She served the Atlantic area as a librarian in the Atlantic Carnegie Library for many years, retiring in 1974. She was active in the Woman's Federated Club, Thursday for club, and Cass County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, First Baptist Church, and the Heritage House.Minnie Mae is survived by, two sons, Robert Koerth and his friend, Jean of Florida, and Kurt Koerth of Denver, Colorado; two daughters Karen Thayer and her husband, Bruce of Wisconsin and Cindy Gannon of Waukee; four grandsons, Tony Koerth and his wife, Judy, Todd Thayer and his friend Shawn, Troy Thayer and his wife, Tami, and David Gannon and his wife, Carol; two granddaughters, Amy Gannon and Brenda Hill and her husband, Tim and David Gannon and his wife, Carol; two granddaughters, Amy Gannon and Brenda Hill and her husband, Tim: eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Nelson of Florida; and one brother, Glenn Martin of Nevada.Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stanley; a sister, Virginia O'Hara; three brothers, Albert Martin, Eldo Martin in Leonard Martin; a daughter in-law, Veronica Koerth; and a son-in-law Dick Gannon.Funeral Information
