Frank Knapp

Frank Louis Knapp, a long time Atlantic, Iowa area resident, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at the age of 92, while residing at the Allen House in Atlantic.Frank was born March 24, 1913 to Louis and Lena (Bartsch) south of Atlantic in Bear Grove Township. He grew up in the neighborhood and attending school there through the 8th grade. On July 10, 1935, Frank was married to Helen Agnes Nelson in Shenandoah, IA. Frank enjoyed farming and he and Helen continued farming until they moved to Atlantic in 1978.He is survived by two nephews, Roger Nettz of Casey, Iowa and Harold Knapp of Royal Oak, Michigan and one niece, Beverly Schlacht of Howell, Michigan.Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Nelson) Knapp; his parents, Louis and Lena Knapp; one brother, Melvin Knapp and one sister, Bertha Nettz.Services for Frank will be held at the Roland Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2005.
