Glenn William Kirchhoff
Glenn Kirchhoff Glenn William Kirchhoff of Griswold, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at the Cass County Memorial Hospital at the age of 78. Glenn was born the son of Walter McKinley and Marie Hattie (Beisser) Kirchhoff on March 17, 1932. He was raised south of Atlantic where he attended rural schools until the 8th grade. He worked for an aunt and uncle on their farm until he entered the U.S. Army. He was in the service, during the Korean Conflict, from 1952 to 1954. Upon his return, he started working for the Cass County Road Department and was foreman for 26 years. Glenn retired, in 1994, after working there for 39 years. He also farmed in Noble and Cass townships. On April 6, 1958, Glenn was united in marriage to Mary Ann Mundorf at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. He is a member of the United Congregational Methodist Church in Lewis. Glenn loved hunting, fishing, and loved all types of animals. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; two sons, Jeffrey (Carrie) Kirchhoff and Drue (Karen) Kirchhoff; two grandsons, Justin (Joelle) Kirchhoff and Kyle Kirchhoff; four granddaughters, Carrie Peck, Chelsey (Aaron) McAdams, Cydney (Chris) Karstens, and Jayney Hoegh in the U.S. Navy; four great grandchildren, Logan, Collin, and Jadynn Price and Kaylee McAdams; granddog, Harley; two brothers, Delbert (Darlene) Kirchhoff and Wayne Kirchhoff; Mary Ann's sisters and brothers, Lu (Willis) Merritt, Fran Mundorf, Phyllis Mundorf, Eloise Perdue, Hazel (Bob) Futrell, Shirley Thomas, Neil (Carol) Mundorf, Larry (Linda) Mundorf; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Mae Mundorf, Everett Mundorf, Edwin Mundorf and Calvin Mundorf .Funeral Information There will be open visitation at Roland Funeral Home on Friday, July 9 from 8:00 A.M. until Friday when the family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held at Lewis United Congregational Methodist Church in Lewis, Iowa at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 10. Pastor Nadine Aydt will officiate. Following the service, the committal will be in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, Iowa. There will be a luncheon back at the church following the interment.
