LORRAINE KILLION
Lorraine Killion, formerly of Lewis, Iowa, passed away at the Heritage House in Atlantic, Iowa, Thursday morning, March 15, 2012, at the age of 88 years.
Lorraine was born on September 28, 1923 to Frank H. and Martha Mae Brown Hardenbergh of Lewis, Iowa. She attended school in Griswold where she graduated from high school. On September 20, 1943, Lorraine was united in marriage to James Elwood Killion in Oakland, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived in the Oakland area before moving to a farm west of Lewis. In 1987, they retired and James passed away on July 22, 1999.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Carter and husband, Ted, of Aspen, CO and a son, Douglas Killion and wife, Janie, of Honey Creek, IA; one granddaughter, Jamie Horn and husband, Robert; two grandsons, Jay Killion and wife, Torie, and Jason Killion and wife, Tracy, and their children, Cody and Kelsey.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, James Killion; her parents, Frank and Martha Hardenbergh and a brother, Clair Hardenbergh and his wife, Billie.
There will be open visitation at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic on Friday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM when a visitation with the family will begin lasting until 8:00. Services for Lorraine will be held on Saturday, March 17, in the United Congregational Methodist Church in Lewis at 1:30 PM with Pastor Nadine Aydt officiating. The interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery at Lewis.
