Obituary for
Larry Lee Kessler
LARRY L. KESSLER
Larry Kessler, 74, long time resident of Atlantic, Iowa and formerly of California and Europe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Cass county Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa.
Larry Lee Kessler was born October 26, 1938 and was adopted, as an infant, by his parents, Roy and Gladys Kessler of Atlantic. He grew up attending local schools and graduated with the Atlantic High School Class of 1956.
A life of adventure, a life of travel and exploration, a husband, a father, a teacher, a lieutenant in the navy, serving the Veterans Administration as a staffing specialist in human resources, and a good and faithful friend to many of us, is what can be said about Larry. Larry experienced life as a teacher to children in high school, to naval personnel and to children in Greece and Cambodia.
From Atlantic, to California, to Europe, back to California and finally to retire in his home town Atlantic to enjoy his favorite pastimes of reading and camping, is what Larry was all about.
He is survived by his daughter, Michele Lake, and many dear friends and was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Renee Mullins.
A private military committal will take place in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
Roland Funeral Service is caring for Larry's arrangements. Condolences may be left in his guest book at www.rolandfuneralservice.com.
