Kenny Hoyt

Kenny Hoyt, 67, of Atlantic, Iowa, died Monday, March 11, 2024, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.      

Kenneth Eugene Hoyt was born July 6, 1956, in Clarinda, Iowa, to Dale Hoyt and Sherry (Cooper) Wiges.   As a youngster, Kenny grew up with his four siblings and took up fishing as his favorite pastime.  It was a hobby he would hold near and dear to his heart the remainder of his life.

In his later years, Kenny would make his way to Atlantic, Iowa, where he worked for numerous construction companies throughout Southwest Iowa. His nickname was “Keen Eye” in Atlantic due to his skills playing billiards in local establishments.  Throughout his life he would befriend most anyone he encountered.  He had a giving soul that, despite being hungry himself, would give whatever he had to others who were in need.  He asked nothing of others but would give of himself until the last days of his life.

Even though Kenny never married, it is well known that he had a large family of brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, many loving adopted friends, and his best friend, Cheyenne.      

He is survived by his sisters, Tonja Hettinger of Mabelvale, AR and Cathy Hoyt of Atlantic; brothers, Steve Hoyt of Elk Horn, IA and Brian Hoyt of Council Bluffs, IA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and Cheyenne.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Family will be hosting a private family event at a date to be determined.
