Kelli Anstey, 61, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.
Kelli Joanne Anstey was born July 4, 1963, at the old Atlantic Hospital to Lawrence Lewis and Mary Anne (McLaren) Anstey. She was a big part of a very close-knit family who shared many fond memories that will not be forgotten. Kelli grew up in the Atlantic area with her two brothers, Greg and “Ant”, and sister Jodi. After attending Iowa Western Community College to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), she worked in a care center while providing for her son, Christopher with the help of her mom. Her family was always there for her when she needed help with Chris, something she was always thankful for. In her later years, she would work as a grocer at Fareway in Atlantic where she will be remembered for her kind and welcoming personality.
To Kelli, her family members were her best friends. Together, the family would travel to Kansas City, Bella Vista, AR, Graceland, TN, annual trips to the Iowa State Fair, and they were also season ticket holders to Iowa State Cyclone football games. When she wasn’t traveling with family, she enjoyed reading novels, playing on her “Cyclone” dart league team, playing euchre with friends, cooking casseroles for family gatherings and just enjoying every minute with her family. She would say her favorite thing in life was spending time with her son, Chris, and grandson, Dante.
Her magnetic personality and friendliness to everyone she met is a memory we will all cherish.
She is survived by her brothers, Greg Anstey of Atlantic and Anthony “Ant” Anstey of Atlantic; sister, Jodi (Delbert) Littleton of Atlantic; grandson, Dante Anstey (and his siblings, Tashayla, Broedy and Olivia, who all called her “Grandma”) of Humbolt, Arizona; nephew, Shea Young of Atlantic; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and many cats.
She is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Anstey; parents, Lawrence and Mary Anstey; grandparents, Jack and Rachel McLaren and Marcella and Charles Anstey; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation with family present will begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7th followed by a Celebration of Life service starting at 10:30 a.m. at Roland Funeral Service in Atlantic. Tom McLaren will be presiding over the services. Burial will be at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Massena immediately following the service.
The family encourages attenders to wear their favorite football team colors!
Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
